Adopt-A-Classroom - remarks from teachersHello!
A recent Miami Herald article featured organizations - including Adopt-A-Classroom - that help teachers get supplies for their classrooms.
We adopted classrooms at Morningside Elementary School through Adopt-A-Classroom and were pleased with the entire process. Our Morningside neighbor, Steve Baird, has also arranged for the adoption of classrooms at Morningside Elementary. I am including remarks from some of the teachers. I have attached a donor card for anyone interested in adopting a classroom at your own child's school or at schools in our nearby neighborhoods.
A registered user of Adopt-A-Classroom has sent you an email.
I appreciate your support. My students and future students will benefit from your generosity. I plan to purchase materials I know and have seen as beneficial in the educational environment, so know your donation will be used appropriately. Few people take the time to go beyond thought and words and help others in need. My students are growing and producing great work and will continue to do so with people, such as yourself, recognizing their potential!
Sincerely, Teacher

On behalf of my class and I, we would like to thank you for donating to our classroom supplies. We look forward to buying many educational materials to help further our education as the year comes to an end and get ready for a new year. I am very excited to shop for the new materials, thanks again for this opportunity and your contribution to our children's future.
Sincerely, Teacher

Message from the teacher
Thank you for everything I appreciate everything you have done for me this year. You have been so helpful. I will always remember you kindness.
What does it mean to 'adopt' a classroom?
By adopting a classroom, you serve as a community partner to a classroom providing financial and moral support to the teacher and students.
Does adopting a classroom 'make a difference'?
You bet! By adopting a classroom, you are providing the teacher with additional funds to purchase hands-on learning materials. In addition, by serving as a community partner, you are positively impacting teacher morale. Empirical data supports that these two factors increase opportunity for classroom success.
Is there a donation size requirement?
You may donate any amount you desire, with a minimum of $25 per classroom.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes. Adopt-A-Classroom is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
Can I adopt more than one classroom?
Yes. You can adopt as many classrooms as you like.
Does Adopt-A-Classroom give the teachers cash?
Adopt-A-Classroom does not send cash to the teachers. We provide each teacher with an online 'e-wallet' account. Your donation is deposited into that online account and the teacher can use the funds with a network of online vendors affiliated with Adopt-A-Classroom.
What may teachers purchase with the donation?
Teachers may use the donated funds to purchase resources such as learning games, books, manipulatives and other materials that help them create an engaging and effective classroom learning environment. Teachers may not use the funds for field trips.
What more is required of me other than making a donation?
Nothing more is required, but we encourage you to support the classroom beyond the donation.
May I visit the classroom?
You may visit the classroom, chaperone field trips, sponsor a career day, and support other activities that you coordinate directly with the teacher.

Thanks,
Sandy Moise

Swimming Lessons
www.aquachild.com
At AquaChild we offer a unique and effective approach to swimming lessons. Our technique creates an environment that fosters independence and confidence, which is vital to your children learning to swim. Through a process of conditioning, your children will learn
to swim head down, roll on their back to rest and breathe, and then roll back over to swim.
The final result of out program is a happy and confident swimmer.
Our Program is designed to not only teach swimming but survival skills as well.
Your infant or child will be able to swim-float-swim in a survival sequence.
Lessons are one-on-one, custom designed for your child’s physical and emotional needs.
Children learn better with short durations in a repetitive manner; typically lessons are 10 minutes, 5 times a week.
There is no substitution for diligent adult supervision when it comes to your child’s safety. However, we offer a unique and comprehensive survival-swimming program that helps add an additional layer of protection for your child in the event of an accident.
Both of our children graduated from this course at the age of 3. It's a must for all children.
